Welcome! Orléans School of Art and Design has signed student exchange agreements in Europe through the Erasmus+ program, in Quebec through the BCI program and outside Europe. Students interested in an exchange programme at Orléans School of Art and Design are invited to apply for a semester or a full year, only if both institutions have signed an exchange agreement.
Admission requirements
Incoming students at Orléans School of Art and Design must have completed at least one full academic year at their home institution. Our school welcomes incoming students from the 2nd to 4th year of study for the first semester and only in the 2nd year of study for the second semester. Incoming students can also spend a full academic year in the 2nd year.
Terms and conditions
- During your stay at Orléans School of Art and Design, you remain a student at your home university and you are exempt from registration fees.
- You will be given a special welcome and administrative and teaching support.
- You can apply for accommodation in a student residence.
- The academic recognition of your mobility is made easier thanks to the ECTS system.
Language requirement
Most courses are given in French and it is preferable that students are able to communicate in our language. However, although this cannot be considered a rule, some teachers communicate easily in English to international students.
Students also benefit from an agreement with the Institut de français of the University of Orléans that offers French classes at all levels for exchange students. The semester course costs only 65€ per student. Students are divided into 4 levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Superior. Each student can take 1 written French course and/or 1 oral French course. Classes take place in the evening from 17:30 to 19:00. Application procedure
First of all you must contact the international office of your home institution. Each partner university has their own selection procedure and you can only submit your application if you have been selected by your home institution. You must have spent at least one year in your home institution. Nominations can only be made by the office of the international relations of your home institution and not by yourself. The nomination has to be sent to : international@esad-orleans.fr with the name of the student, field and year of studies and the e.mail address of the student.
Then your application must contain:

– Last transcript of records
– Portfolio (PDF)
– Passport photo
– Copy of your passport/ID

Learning agreement
Once you have received your acceptance letter, you must fill out and sign your learning agreement. The learning agreement is a contract between the sending institution, the receiving institution and the exchange student. In order to facilitate the process between the parties, the learning agreement is filled out and signed online on learning-agreement.eu after creating an account.

Accommodation
The Orléans School of Art and Design has a few one-room apartments reserved for exchange students in a public residence (limited places).
These apartments of 17 to 20m2 are located in the Residence Dessaux (2 rue de la Folie – 45000 Orléans). For the year 2023-2024, the monthly rent is 358€ including charges (electricity, water, heating, WIFI).
To benefit from it, you must tell the international relations department which will put you in contact with the services of the Résidence Dessaux.
The whole procedure and the submission of the application documents is done online by creating an account on messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr.
At the same time, you must request a VISALE guarantee (mandatory for CROUS accommodation) on the VISALE website.
