The programme Égalité des Chances de la Fondation culture et diversité promotes access to schools of art and design for youths from educational priority areas, who openly demonstrate their wish to pursue art studies, after their Baccalaureate.
Since 2007 this programme, working in partnership with 19 state, art and design schools under the academic supervision of the ministry of Culture, serves to support high-school pupils from modest backgrounds, in their preparation for entry exams to art and design schools.
– 700 Première (grade 11) pupils sensitized to art and design schools per year
– 34 partner high-schools in France
Identified at the end of Première (grade 11) by their art specialization teacher, the interested pupils are informed about art schools, their pedagogy and the diplomas on offer.
About 300 pupils are then selected to participate in an Equal Chances Traineeship during the Terminale. Composed of practical lessons(drawing, volumes, photo); theoretical lessons (writing, art history, dossier preparation); exhibitions and meetings with professionals, this traineeship enables them to increase their chances of passing school entry exams: 52,38 % success rate for Equal Chances pupils.
