Cyber_cave artistic residency
Call for applications 2022

The Orléans School of Art and Design, with the financial support of the Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles Centre-Val de Loire, is offering an artist residency to participate in the CYBER_CAVE project by working on the graphic design and interface of the virtual reality application CYBER_CAVE.

The expected skills are a mastery of UIX (User Interaction and Experience) 3D and 2D creation as well as a good practice of shader and animation techniques. The successful candidate will have the task of creating the user interface of the CYBER_CAVE application in collaboration with the team members. Knowledge of Unity software will be appreciated.

Applications are selected by a jury composed of the ESAD Orléans director, the CYBER_CAVE project manager and the CYBER_CAVE application development manager. Launched in 2020, CYBER_CAVE is imagined to be a metaverse third place, i.e. a virtual place of creation, fabrication and dissemination for a community of creators, particularly young creators, who can interact socially with the aim of conceiving, developing, experimenting and disseminating works of plastic art, theatre, dance, music, architecture and design within this space or as an extension of the tangible (= physical) space.

Residency period

The successful candidate will benefit from a three-month residency period from 01/04 to 30/06/2022.

Financial conditions

He/she will receive a grant of 3000 euros.

Terms and conditions

A validation meeting is held on the arrival of the resident and leads to an agreement between him/her and the school. The resident will work in close collaboration with Lionel Broye and the CYBER_CAVE team in order to finalise the 3D design of the application while contributing his/her personal vision. At the end of the residency, the resident will be able to use the application developed by CYBER_CAVE for his or her plastic production without any time limit, and will be able to modify the code of the latter provided that the CYBER_CAVE project is credited.

Application

The application file can be written either in French or in English and must include the following elements:

  • a Curriculum Vitae;
